Our Programs

We believe the most effective way to implement positive youth development programs and bring about lasting improvements in school climate is to equip educators with research-based materials and strategies that address the critical issues facing youth today. This belief is the foundation that informs Lions Quest program curricula and professional development workshops.

Lions Quest features three developmentally appropriate program levels:

Skills for Growing: K-5

The Lions Quest Skills for Growing is a comprehensive program that integrates character education, social and emotional learning, drug and bullying prevention, and service-learning. The program includes thematic teaching units that helps create a positive classroom environment and establishes a foundation and understanding of SEL skills and opportunities for reflection and practice of these skills.

Skills for Adolescence: Grades 6-8

Lions Quest Skills for Adolescence is a comprehensive life skills and prevention program that helps middle school youth, parents and teachers cope with the physical, emotional and social challenge of early adolescent years. Program focuses on important competencies like positive social attitudes, respect and responsible decision making, and prevention of negative behaviors including violence, drugs and alcohol.

Skills for Action: Grades 9-12

Skills for Action is the high school component of Lions Quest. The innovative and flexible curriculum moves beyond the classroom to offer a flexible program that delivers increased understanding of social and emotional learning (SEL) to young adults and the demands of the 21st century workplace. This program revolves around use of a service learning "Skills Bank" component to implement effective SEL and school-to-work competencies in the classroom and guides them toward active citizenship and engagement.

Skills for Adolescence for Out-of-School Time is adapted from Lions Quest's highly-rated middle school curriculum to provide staff with a positive youth development program that meets the unique demands of out-of-school time settings.

Lions Quest supports school-community partnerships by linking local schools with the largest service organization in the world - Lions Clubs International.


Does It Work?
Students gained skills in self awareness and management, learning to deal with conflict peacefully, and social awareness. The school graduation rate increased from 37% in 2010 to more than 90% in 2011.
